Victoria Avenue School is currently rated a decile 10 school and therefore the BOT and the PTS need to raise a substantial amount per year above what is provided by the government to enable us to offer the best educational environment for our children to enjoy and benefit.

The PTS actively seeks a wide variety of sponsors and supporters to contribute to their fundraising activity and are also responsible for establishing cooperative partnerships with local businesses.

Supporting our fundraising efforts will help the school raise necessary funds towards the main objectives the BOT have set for the school for the year including:

  • Ensuring we develop our educational programs and provide access to up-to-date learning facilities.
  • Enabling major building works required to stabilize and update several classrooms to facilitate the move towards implementing ‘Interactive Learning Style’ learning spaces for the senior school

The PTS offers a variety of opportunities for businesses and parents to support the school:

  • Ongoing Cooperative Partnerships with local businesses
  • Sponsorship of PTS events – a full list of events for 2017 is listed in the school calendar
  • Donate items for raffles and auctions
  • Donate money to help run an event
  • Donate your time/skills/expertise to help run an event

Opportunities are considered and developed on a case by case basis and we work to ensure a mutually rewarding relationship for both parties.

  • Opportunities to network with members of the school community at events
  • Branding in digital & printed school communications
  • Acknowledgement on all related occasions
  • Our undertaking to work on any other innovative promotional opportunities that will mutually advantage both parties

Please note that VAS will issue a donation receipt for all cash grants which will allow individuals/businesses to claim a tax credit.

A huge thank you to the generosity of our partners, sponsors and supporters, past and present……

The school is delighted to confirm Nick Lyus from Barfoot & Thompson as the school’s principal sponsor for 2017. We are working closely with Nick throughout the year on a number of exciting ventures, including the Gala, the Quiz Night, and the Halloween Disco Night.

The PTS sells Tip Top iceblocks every Friday after school during Terms 1&4 and wish to thank New World Remuera for generously donating all of the product for sale during 2017/18!

The school has been selected by The Warehouse to participate in a Community Choice Programme that provides financial support to not-for-profit community groups and organisations. A fund is raised through their customers purchasing a 10cent shopping bag in return for a token, which is then placed in a voting booth (or forgo the bag). At the end of a 6-month period the fund is divided among 3 participating partners based on their percentage of tokens, with the VAS share being put towards much-needed refurbishment of outdoor playground equipment. The VAS voting booth is situated at The Warehouse store in Newmarket and the period runs from August 2017 until January 2018. Please spread the word among friends and family!

If you know of any other loyalty schemes and grants that can benefit the school, please contact Amanda Dick on mrs.amanda.dick@gmail.com

Held in the school grounds, the Gala is a biannual, open-door event that attracts several thousand people from a wide community of residents in addition to families and friends of the school.  The 2017 Gala was held on Sunday 9th April and was a massive success by all accounts. Through the culmination of a lot of hard work by parents and teachers and with the generosity of our sponsors, the Gala played host to a variety of food stalls, games, water slides, bouncy castles, circus entertainers, live music, mystery envelopes and quick fire raffles, white elephant and toy/clothes stalls but to name a few. Photos from the event can be found on the Gala Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/vickiavegala/photos/.
