Class Sites

During the Covid-19 lockdown teachers have planned for learning to be accessible to students remotely as follows. Throughout this time all teachers will be monitoring student learning and providing feedback.
Years 1 & 2
At the start of each week, Junior School teachers will email parents with a suggested ‘timetable’ of learning tasks for the week. The learning will be completed primarily through the use of Reading Eggs and Mathseeds using existing student logins. They will also have access to Sunshine Online with a school password which will be emailed to parents. For some learning tasks and activities children will use Seesaw to share their learning. This will be outlined by class teachers as required. If you have any problems in accessing any of these learning sites please contact your child’s teacher via email.
Years 3-6
All classes now have a class website on which teachers have added suggested learning tasks and links to key learning sites such as Mathletics and Reading  Eggspress. Teachers will be updating these sites throughout lockdown to ensure they are relevant and engaging. To ensure appropriate security of any student work that may be linked to a class site, these sites can only be accessed and viewed when students are logged in to their school Google account. All students have a shared doc in their Google Drive that has a link for them to access their class site. Should there be any problems accessing these sites please contact your child’s teacher via email.

Last year we introduced the student-driven digital portfolio called Seesaw.

Seesaw is a way for teachers and students to record and share what’s happening in the classroom. Children can “show what they know” using photos, videos, drawings, text and links. It is a place to get student work in one place and share with families.

Each student gets their own journal and will add things to it, like photos, videos, drawings, or notes. When there are new Seesaw posts, families can be notified via app notification, email or text.

Parents are only notified about their own child’s work, and all data is safe and secure. You can only see your own child’s work. Parents are able to “like” and post comments however, everything has to be approved by the classroom teacher so your comment may not appear immediately.

Talk to your class teacher if you have any problems viewing your child’s journal on Seesaw.
