WHAT IS THE PTS?
Victoria Avenue School has an active Parent/Teacher Subcommittee(PTS). The PTS is always keen to welcome new members and provides a forum for your ideas and gives you the opportunity to meet other parents and be more involved in the school’s activities.
The PTS has three main aims:
1. To encourage involvement in the school and foster a sense of community.
2. To provide funds for the “extras”.
3. To improve and maintain the school environment.
Meetings are held monthly on a Tuesday evening at 7.30 p.m. in the staff room.
We welcome all parents to PTS and BOT meetings. The PTS is a subcommittee of the Victoria Avenue School Board of Trustees. Each year it is necessary to fundraise for our school to enable us to offer the best educational environment for our children to enjoy and benefit.
WHAT DO WE DO?
The PTS committee support the school in many different ways.
Primarily we fundraise for the school. The PTS actively seeks a wide variety of sponsors and supporters to contribute to their events. They are also responsible for establishing cooperative partnerships with local businesses. Please click here for information on how to support the school. The money contributes towards the main objectives the BOT have for the school for the year.
We also love to “friend-raise”. We organise opportunities for the school community to get together, have some fun and get to know each other. Family Fun night at the start of the year, the New Entrant morning teas, Halloween, Grandparents’ day are but some of these activities.
Members of the committee are also involved in various projects around the school, such as the Gardening Working Bee, class parents and Resource Making.
