Stirling Street road closure

Stirling Street will be closed for road maintenance from 22 February to 13 March (7am – 7pm daily). Contingency dates 15 to 19 March.

The school hall is available to hire for one off events such as birthday parties. The rate is $25 per hour. To check availability email [email protected]

Lingarth Street walking school bus

We would love to hear from families interested in joining the Lingarth Street walking school bus. Please get in touch. It’s a great way to meet local families and walking to school is a great way to start the day! It runs mornings only (can look at afternoons if there is enough interest).

The route: Starts at the corner of Ross and Lingarth Sts at 8am. Walks along Lingarth, crosses over Manawa Rd and walks the bottom of Martin Wilson Field to the bottom of Sonia Ave. Walks up Sonia Ave and uses the pedestrian crossing opposite Baradene to safely cross. This route means there is only one major/busy road (Manawa) that we cross.

Parents are asked to walk once a week to support the bus.
Please contact Paige [email protected] or 021996844.

Please be considerate of our neighbours

One of our Stirling Street neighbours contacted us about school caregivers constantly parking their cars and blocking their driveway at  school pick up time. The neighbour was very gracious and has accepted this behaviour for a long time but has finally decided to raise the matter which has become abuse.

PLEASE be courteous and considerate of our neighbours’ properties.

Table Tennis coaching

The Auckland Table Tennis Association is offering free table tennis coaching to Year 5 and Year 6 students from Central Auckland Primary Schools including Victoria Avenue School. No previous experience in table tennis is required. Registration will be based on a “first come first served” basis.

Two 4 week coaching course options are available:

Tuesday 23rd March – Tuesday 13th April 2021 (4 weeks) or

Thursday 25th March – Thursday 15th April 2021 (4 weeks)

The coaching will be held from 3.45 – 5.00 pm at the Auckland table tennis stadium, 99A Gillies Avenue, Epsom.

The course requires a commitment from registered players to attend all sessions unless a genuine reason prevents them from doing so. Parents/caregivers will need to arrange for transportation to and from the Auckland table tennis stadium.

Your child will need non-marking sports shoes, a water bottle, and sport clothing (eg. shorts, t-shirt). If your child has a table tennis bat then they should bring this with them otherwise Auckland Table Tennis will provide a bat. You are welcome to stay. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either of the following 2 people.
