The newly elected Board held its first meeting on 1 July.

Board positions

As is customary for a new Board the office holder positions with the following outcomes;

  • John Thorman was unanimously elected as Board Chair
  • Bridget Snelling was unanimously elected as Deputy Chair
  • Tim Larkin was unanimously elected as Finance Spokesperson
  • Martin Cooper was unanimously elected as Property Sub-Committee Chair
  • Craig Cunningham was unanimously elected as PTS Liaison

The other board members are Ilona Lumborg as Teacher Representative and Janice Adamson as Principal.

We would like to again express our thanks to the previous board members for their contributions to the school, in particular to Bob Weston, who was a valued member of the Board for the past eight years, and Nicky Hall who kindly continued in her role for eighteen months after her son had left Victoria Avenue School.

Property planning – information gathering

Following overwhelming successful information gathering exercises with parents, teachers, kids and the property subcommittee took a bit longer than expected to gather and analyse the great feedback.  This slightly pushed our timeline for the finalisation of the property master plan, but the amount of valuable information received far outweighs the minor delay.

Please keep an eye out for communications on future property meetings and do get involved.

PTS Forest Project – Stage 1 approved

The Board of Trustees approved Stage 1 of the PTS’s Forest Development Project which is the creation of an amphitheatre which should start during the October school holidays.  Stage 2 is planned for 2020.

Annual accounts – approved

Our unqualified audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2018 were approved for signing.
