Alexander Johnston - Room 6
Alexander is a conscientious and hardworking pupil who deserves recognition for his excellent achievement and work ethic.
He listens attentively and answers questions with a mature thoughtfulness.
Alexander displays a wide general knowledge, and is able to maintain high levels of concentration. He shows a caring thoughtful attitude towards others and is always willing to help out within the classroom. 
Thank you very much Alexander for your fun sense of humour (always making your teacher smile), your amazing progress and your contribution to our learning
community in Room 6.

Brooke Robinson - Room 15
Brooke Robinson is Room 15's Pupil of the Week for many lovely reasons.
Brooke has delightful manners and is always gentle, kind and considerate to her friends and teachers. She always comes to school with a cheerful smile to help
brighten up the day.
Brooke willingly takes care of new children. She helps them to learn the class routines, and involves them in her games so they are not
lonely at playtime.
Brooke is also a hard worker. She takes pride in her work and does everything to the best of her ability. Her art work and hand writing is
neat and precise.
You are a role model for your peers, Brooke, and we are happy to celebrate your special
qualities today.

Sophie Ireland - Room 14
Sophie is a delightful, friendly girl who is always cheerful and keen to help in Room 14.
She is kind and caring towards everyone. She is well-mannered and has a calm, serene outlook on life. She listens politely and attentively. She tries her best in all areas of her work,  and has made particularly pleasing progress in literacy this year.
She is always ready to tackle new challenges with a quiet determination.

Mokoia Wright - Room 12
Mokoia has blossomed this year.
Her attitude towards her learning has developed making her a
responsible and reliable member of the class. 
She is a valued member of our learning community. She has a curious and inquisitive nature and is always eager to share ideas and thoughts
that are often outside the square.
She comes to school with a big smile on her face and usually
carrying something interesting to share with the class.
She has been a great role model for the New Entrants joining as she will always lend a helping hand to them, and I thank her for this.
Mokoia is a shining star on the stage, as many will know with our assembly last week
and our Wearable Arts show, you were amazing.
Room 12 has been lucky to have her!
Keep on learning, growing and blossoming.


Thomas Paterson - Room 16
The pupil of this week comes from Room 16, and is our very own
writing machine - Thomas Paterson.
Thomas is a diligent and caring pupil, who has shown a co-operative attitude
toward all of his peers this year.
He sets high expectations for himself, and then strives to achieve his goals.
Thomas is willing to share his ideas with the class and let us all learn
about his great suggestions during IBL.
He loves to write, and we think he will one day be the next JK Rowling, because sometimes we just can't get him to stop writing in our class!
Thomas truly deserves this special award, and all of us in Room 16 are proud of him.

Sebastian Allum - Room 3

Sebastian is a cheerful and enjoyable member of Room Three. He is widely respected by all his classmates and peers and he always gives everything he does his very best effort.
Sebastian cares for his school mates. He selflessly offers assistance to everyone, regardless of their age and he makes sure that everyone always
gets a fair deal and equal opportunity.
Sebastian’s attitude and diligence is indeed a credit to him. He is an extremely valued and important of member of the Senior Syndicate, Room 3 and indeed the entire Victoria Avenue learning community.

Georgia Hulme - Room 10
Georgia is a very special member of Room 10!
She comes in to the class each day with a beautiful smile, a positive attitude and a friendly greeting for her teacher and classmates.
She is always caring and helpful to others and is popular among her
friends for her energy and enthusiasm.
Just like our school motto, Georgia gives her 'best always'
to absolutely everything she does.
Her hardworking and conscientious work ethic has contributed to her
excellent academic achievements this year.  
She is also a fabulous singer and performer and shone in our
class assembly and wearable arts show.
Georgia, it has been a pleasure seeing you grow in confidence this year.

Alex Hoffman - Room 9
Room 9 are lucky to have a superstar like Alex in our class. He is has gained so much confidence this year and tries hard at everything he does.  Alex now shows focus and determination at writing time and his reading has shot through the roof like a rocket!  He is responsible and caring and everyone just loves having him around.
Well done Alex you have made such fantastic progress this year and we are proud to have you as a member of our class!


Calvin Fraser - Room 5

Calvin is an enthusiastic, conscientious pupil. Calvin is always willing to help his friends and his teacher in anyway he can.
He constantly strives to reach his goals in all classroom subjects and is beginning to take pride in the work that he produces.
Calvin participates in all classroom activities with a mature and confident attitude.
We really appreciate Calvin’s presence in our class and know he will go far with the positive and focused attitude he has.

Allan Sun - Room 2
Allan is a valued and popular member of Room 2, he always enters the class with a smile on his face and shows a caring and sensitive attitude towards all his peers. He has an enquiring mind and has worked hard to improve his self management skills. A keen and profitable contributor, Allan listens with empathy and understanding and always gives strives to achieve the best.

Sophie is an outstanding member of Room 8. 
She is a kind, caring friend, who always looks out for other children,
both inside and outside the classroom.
Sophie is a super star worker.  She always gets on with her work quickly and quietly,
and always tries her best. 
This year Sophie has turned into a writing machine.  She writes amazing stories,
filled with juicy words!  
If her teacher's need a helper, Sophie can always be relied upon to get the job done. 
We love having you in our class Sophie, thank you for your wonderful manners, and hard working attitude every day.

Harry Staines - Room 4
 It is with pleasure that Room 4 acknowledges Harry as our Pupil of the Week.  
Harry has really blossomed and grown in confidence over the
past couple of months.
He is a delightful boy and has a wide circle of friends.  He is considerate, caring and he continually proves himself to be a reliable, trusted peer.
Harry has been progressing in leaps and bounds with his reading and writing and should be very proud of his efforts.  
He has shown determination and persistence
 even when it seems a little too tough.
Room 4 are always happy to see Harry enter our class, he adds a sense of fun and reminds others to look on the bright side of life.  
It is a pleasure to have Harry in Room 4 especially when we need a bit of cheering up.

Alex Saunders - Room 7
Alex, you arrive at school each day with a smile that never fades.  You are a very thoughtful member of Room 7 with beautiful manners and a kind word for everyone you meet.  You are a good friend to all the children in Year 2 because you are a good listener and enjoy helping others and having fun.  You are also a great member of the learning community in Room 7 as you work hard at everything you do, and are always ready to listen, offer ideas and accept other points of view.

Jason Sang - Room 1
Jason is a valued member of Room One’s Learning Community. He comes to school everyday ready to learn and contributes thoughtfully to class discussions. Jason has a great sense of humour and always has a smile on his face. He is very computer smart and can always help Room One with our computer questions. Jason is a critical thinker and his curiosity allows him to excel during Inquiry Based Learning. Room One is very fortunate to have Jason in our class!

Trisna Claney- Room 20
Congratulations Trisna you are very deserving of this special award!
You are a superb role model to your peers each day.
You are keen to take on challenges and complete all tasks with
originality and flare.
Each morning I know you will arrive equipped with a positive attitude and a mature respect for your peers.
Your ability to work independently and take responsibility for your learning ensures you will always get the most out of school life.
The way you genuinely take an interest in others and listen to what people around you have to offer should be highly commended.

 Chelsea Simmons - Room 19
 Chelsea is the pupil with the big smile and vibrant personality that never fails to amaze and amuse you!
  She is an enthusiastic, motivated member of Room 19. Chelsea shares her fantastic ideas confidently and involves herself fully in all classroom activities.
  She shows real commitment to her learning and enjoys thinking outside the square to ensure her work is innovative and unique.
  Chelsea has fantastic leadership qualities which are constantly puts to great use, assisting her peers in their work, helping with class activities and going the extra mile to be of assistance to teachers and friends.
 Chelsea has wide group of friends who she enjoys playing with. She is a fair, considerate friend with a great sense of humour.
 We are very lucky to have Chelsea in our class this year.
  Keep it up Chelsea!!!

Cate Cleland - Room 21
Cate has made a fantastic start to her school life.
She tackles all class tasks with enthusiasm and a determination to finish her
work to a high standard.
Cate is a very friendly, caring classmate and helps new children settle into our class by encouraging and guiding them throughout their day.
Cate will always brighten up every class she is in, with her cheerful chat and her illuminating ideas.
Cate you are a wonderful member of Room 21.

William Dalziel - Room 15
William is a lively, inquiring member of Room 15. He is always alert and focused during discussion time and usually has a good idea or observation to share with the class. He has even learnt to keep an idea in his head long enough
to put his hand up!
William starts each school day with an infectious cheery smile and friendly greeting. He is enthusiastic about being at school with his friends and knows
how to have fun while he learns.
William is both helpful and reliable, which makes him a great person to have around, especially when there are activities to tidy up or messages to take.
Room 15 just loves having you as part of their learning family, William.

Sophie Weston - Room 18
Sophie is a happy and outgoing student who enjoys school and participates fully in all school activities. She always settles to work quickly and works steadily and cheerfully and without any fuss.
Sophie has a great sense of humour and we seldom see her without a smile on her face.
For me, Sophie is the embodiment of what it means to be a student at VAS - caring, thoughtful, hardworking, helpful and , most of all, great fun.
We are so privileged to have Sophie in Room 18.
 
   
 
Chloe Beech - Room 17
 Chloe is a lovely girl, always caring of her peers and ready to
assist when needed.
She is a conscientious student who quickly settles to tasks and
always endeavours to do her best.
With her kind, caring nature and helpful ways Chloe is a
valued member of Room 17.
We are very fortunate to have her in our class.

Ben is an intelligent, articulate boy who always has interesting
ideas to share with the class.
He is a well rounded pupil  -  he is achieving well in all areas of the curriculum, and enjoys music and sport.
He is keen to tackle new challenges in his school life, and readily accepts responsibility when it is asked of him.
He is a caring friend and is becoming increasingly aware of the needs of others.

George Barker - Room 12
George is a fun loving and hard working member of Room 12.
George's energetic and enthusiastic approach to learning is contagious. He seems like he might burst when he has a fantastic idea to share with us.
George also knows how to be a sensible role model, which is helpful when we get our new members of Room 12.
George is kind, caring and sensitive to other children's feelings, which allows him to make friends easily.
Room 12 feels very lucky to have you as a part of our class.

Lachlan is a quiet, conscientious and helpful class member who always gives of his best.
He sets himself very high standards, often being  too hard on himself.  Lachlan has developed in confidence throughout the year  and is now showing frequent flashes of his off-beat humour, amusing the class.
He relates well to all his peers and Room 17 will really miss such a valued class member when Lachlan leaves us to return to Australia at the end of this term.
 
Rachel Ravi - Room 6
Rachel is a conscientious and hardworking pupil who deserves recognition for her excellent achievement and work ethic.
She sets her standards very high and she is able to maintain high levels of concentration. Rachel is an active listener and her confidence to participate and contribute has grown.
She shows a caring thoughtful attitude towards others and is always willing to help out within the classroom.
Thank you very much Rachel for your quiet dedication and amazing contribution to our learning community in Room 6.

Fenna Goldfinch - Room 16
Room 16 are so proud to have Fenna Goldfinch as the Pupil of the Week. Fenna is one of most sincere, thoughtful and kind girls that you will ever meet in life.
She is always thinking of others before her self,
and is a very generous student.
Fenna loves to give 100% effort to everything she does. She uses her powerful imagination to write great stories and poems, and
her creativity to make awesome artworks.
Fenna is a mature student who amazes her teacher with her independence, and we especially love the way she makes decisions by herself without worrying about what everyone else thinks.
Well done Fenna, you truly deserve  this award.    

Oliver Mickleson - Room 10
Oliver is an all round fantastic member of Room 10.
He is enthusiastic, caring and popular with his friends for his honesty and reliability. He is often chosen as a buddy to look after other children and
to demonstrate how to be a good friend.
He always tries his best at anything he does and has made great progress with his school work as a result of this amazing attitude.
Oliver also has a great imagination and a creative streak that shows through, especially in writing, problem solving and art.
He is cheerful and confident and we enjoy having him in Room 10
everyday of the week!
        Well done Oliver, keep up the good work!

Zoe and Hannah Mercer - Room 9
Room 9 are lucky to have two very special girls in our class.  They may both be born on the same day, but each one brings something unique and
different to our room each day.
Hannah is kind and caring and is always helping out the teacher and her friends! She looks out for others and makes sure they are ok if they are feeling sad and her positive attitude and  sunny smile really helps to brighten
up our room each day.
Zoe also is kind, caring and helpful.  She is a fantastic friend and is a real role model in our class.  Zoe is a very clever artist and we love to look at the care and detail she puts into her work.  She is very self motivated always
helps others without a fuss.
Zoe and Hannah you are both stars. Any class would be lucky to have just one Mercer girl but room 9 is extra lucky because we have two!

Claudia is a vibrant and friendly young lady who makes all feel welcomed and appreciated. She is helpful, considerate and always gives everything
she does her very best effort.
Claudia cares for everyone at the school, not just her classmates. She goes out of her way to celebrate the successes of others and selflessly gives her time to help other students achieve successes of their own.
Claudia’s attitude and diligence is a credit to her. She is an extremely valued member of the Senior Syndicate, Room 3 and the whole of the Victoria Avenue learning community.

Samantha Hart ~ Room 5
Samantha is a delightful and valued member of Room 5.
Her hard work is reflected in her writing for which she has a real passion.
Samantha always exceeds the highest standards set and her work shows a person who takes great pride in their accomplishments.
Her friendly nature means she is never more than happy to
help out her fellow classmates.
Samantha is extremely mature and is a role model for others in the school.

Elijah Liefting ~ Room 8
Elijah comes to school everyday ready to learn.  Not only does he take responsibility for his belongings and learning tools, he has an outstanding attitude.  Elijah approaches new learning tasks positively, and is always prepared to give things a go.  
Elijah is a sensitive and caring member of our class, and is always looking out for his friends.  During play times, he loves to be active, and always includes
his classmates in his games.  
We are lucky to have such a wonderful, all round super person in our class.

Phoebe Pemberton - Room 2
Phoebe always starts the day with a sparkle in her eye and a bright smile that lights up the room as she enters. Her bubbly personality is contagious and
she is well respected by all.
Never too busy to lend a helping hand, she is an attentive listener with a warm and caring heart and is one of Room 2's most
valued class members.
She has clear goals with regards to her learning and is self motivated to tackle all tasks with enthusiasm and holds high expectations of herself.
Room 2 wouldn't be the same without her.

William McLachlan - Room 15
Room 15 is delighted to tell you all about William.
William is a super competitor! He always tries to do his best whether in the classroom or on the sports field. He will be planning to win the Cross Country next week, so look out Year One boys!
William has lovely manners and can be relied upon to do the right thing at all times, whatever the situation. He is a great role model for his friends in Room 15 and they look up to him, and try to follow his lead.
William is also a friendly, happy boy with a lovely smile and sense of humour.
Congratulations on being our Pupil of the Week, William.

Jacob Haycock - Room 20
Room 20 is lucky to have such a considerate class member as Jacob. We love how he is always thoughtful, reliable and gives everything a go.
He arrives at school with a cheerful smile, and shares this contagious
enthusiasm all day long!  
He listens to instructions and gives his best effort. Jacob is able to enjoy thinking about his classmates’ ideas and is also keen to share his own.
We all enjoy his sense of humour and calm character.
Congratulations Jacob you are a superb role model to your Peers!

Ken Zeng - Room 4
Ken is a motivated, hardworking student, who always aims for the best in everything he does.  Ken focuses on the finer details of his work, producing work that is always top of the line. Ken has been a special helper to Miss McQuinn as has taken the time to translate English to a non-English speaking child.  What a challenge to keep up with his own work and help another continually.
Ken always thinks of others before himself, he is a helpful and friendly student willing to lend a hand whenever required.
Ken is a pleasure to teach and a role model to all in Room 4.  We have enjoyed having such a lovely member in our class.  Ken you should be very proud of your efforts this year and we all look forward to seeing you continue to grow.

Kimberly Lin - Room 1
Kimberly is a valued member of Room One's Learning Community.
She is a responsible learner who is self-motivated and strives to do her best
in everything that she does.
Kimberly is a focused student who is not afraid to take on whatever
challenges may come her way - a true leader.
She participates in every class discussion and contributes her thoughtful ideas that show her critical thinking skills. Kimberly's drive is impressive and this will allow her to succeed in whatever she takes on!
You are a real role model Kimberly and Room One is lucky to have you!

George Burns - Room 18
George is completely involved in all aspects of school life.
His enthusiasm is a treat to see.
Very dramatic and outspoken, George is the showman of Room 18.
He has amazing manners and just loves to help people.
George is a star on the computer and whenever someone gets stuck - particularly the teacher! - he takes over, sorts out the problem and explains how  to prevent the same thing happening  next time.
Life in Room 18 would be much quieter without George, but much less interesting!
George , we are so pleased you’re in our room to keep us all on our toes!
